Triple P Parenting Courses
Barnet Mencap is delighted to be offering free Triple P Stepping Stones parenting courses for families who have a child with additional needs. The Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) was developed by the University of Queensland and is internationally recognised as “one of the most effective evidence-based parenting programs in the world” (www.triplep.net/glo-en/home ). Triple P Stepping Stones is the version of Triple P which is designed for children with additional needs.
Parents/carers will need to commit to a nine week course, which involves five face to face sessions followed by telephone support and then either one or two face to face sessions (depending on the needs of the group) to conclude the nine weeks. We are timing all of our courses to coincide with Barnet school terms so that the break after five weeks will occur at half terms or school holidays.
Our next course will start in October 2017 and is targeted at families with a child with ADHD, we have deliberately not set an age range for this course and will tailor the course according to the age range of participants’ children. It will take place on Tuesday mornings starting on 3rd October 2017 and will be at a location TBC. Please see this flyer for more information.
We need at least 10 participants for this and future courses to go ahead.
We also have two more courses. The first starts in November 2017 and targets families with a child with Autism. We are not yet able to confirm the venue - see the flyer for this here.
The following course, in January 2018 and for parents with a child with any learning disability. Please click here for this flyer.
