Community Link Worker

Salary: £20,032

We are dynamic, expanding, and looking for focused individuals to join our enthusiastic and diverse team.  We support adults with moderate learning disabilities and/or autism to live independently in housing situations of their choice. The job offers a challenge and satisfaction and will suit someone who meets the following:

You must:

  • have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and autism in a community setting
  • have a good working knowledge of safeguarding issues facing people with learning disabilities and autism
  • be a good team member
  • understand the issues faced by people with learning disabilities and autism living independently and have the skills to meet their practical, social and emotional needs
  • have a ‘Person Centred Planning’ ethos
  • have excellent communication skills

Senior Autism Advisor

Project: Bright Futures
Salary: £23,740 p.a.
Hours: 35

Working for You is a well-established and successful service for adults with learning disabilities and people with autism.

However there has been an increase in the number of people with autism identified in primary care services. 

Barnet Mencap is looking for a full-time Senior Autism Advisor.  The Senior Autism Advisor post is a pilot project to ensure that people are offered advice, information and other appropriate support as early as possible, and to identify the best way to do this in the long-term.

The pilot will be funded until the end of March 2019, based with the Working for You team but working closely with the Network team and locality bases across the borough.

Applicants will need to deliver a 5-minute presentation on autism awareness specifically relating to those with High Functioning Autism or Asperger’s.
