2 x part time support workers – Short Breaks Service

£20,032 per annum for full time (pro-rata for part time)

Barnet Mencap Short Breaks Services provides support for adults with learning disabilities.  It is a well-established and successful service that is ready to meet the challenge of changing expectations of carers.

These roles will be directly supporting adults with learning disabilities and people with autism or Asperger’s either in the family home, community based, including client holidays, or in our adult respite service.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our service.
You will need to be positive and person centred. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team and be able to work using your own initiative. You will promote independence, inclusion and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have;

  1. a minimum of one year’s experience of working with adults with learning and physical disabilities in a residential or community setting, ideally with an NVQ qualification in care
  2. a commitment to working in partnership with people with learning disabilities and their families

You must be able to:

  1. maintain records and write reports
  2. attend training and meetings as requested
  3. work on a rota basis including mornings, evenings, weekends & bank holidays
  4. be committed to anti-discriminatory practice
